Our Story

Founder of Beenokle
In 2009, as a student, I stumbled upon OmmWriter — a beautiful minimalist editor that only worked on Mac. I wanted something like that for Windows, to write down thoughts at the end of the day. That's how ZenWriter was born.
Over 15 years, the simple idea of "don't get in the way of thinking" grew into a conviction: technology should serve people, not the other way around. Beenokle is an independent company — no investors, no ads, no hidden agenda. Just products you can trust.
ZenWriter
First editor for Windows with a dark theme — before it became standard. Keystroke sounds, ambient music, and a minimalist interface.
Cross-platform
Transition to web technologies and first macOS version. New approach to document storage, expanding beyond Windows.
ZenWriter Online
Fully browser-based version. During the pandemic, many searched for a calm space to work with text. Everything changed, except what matters — the atmosphere.
Beenokle
The idea of one tool grew into an ecosystem. Launch of Beenokle Dos — the first product beyond the text editor.
